That restaurant area was a dirty and dingy little place anyway. It was well overdue for a revamp. Glad nobody was hurt.

Did somebody get tired of waiting for the move?

"Its planned relocation to the nearby Toyosu area has been delayed by pollution concerns at the new site."

Hmm, any chance this could be arson, in order to hasten a lucrative relocation and construction deal?

Um, no! No chance at all. These buildings were not part of the move, so there is no point in burning them.

Fishy.

Insurance? (They aren't likely to have any value after the market they are attached to moves,...)

Fishy, sounds like trying to claim insurance before moving to the new place.

15 hours, fire concrete? of course no investigation, just relief for Ginza property developers.

Lots of JT folks don't seem to understand the difference between the wholesale market, and the tourist focused retail shops which aren't going to move.

Any arson suggestion implies that the arsonist too is clueless about the move plans, or was going to commit arson even if knowledgeable of the facts.

The highest probability here is an accident plain and simple.

No point visiting the Tourist restaurants if there's no Fish auction being carried out in the early hours. These restaurants will simply just become yet another run of the mill Fish restaurant, and as such will probably go out of business leaving their owners in debt.

my experience of many fish markets are wet concrete. but as i haven't visited the fire scene, i appreciate your info. in the background of this fire is the scandals. also the land value there is so high you can fly a kite.
