Does this mean China will stop whipping up anti-Japanese sentiment for political purposes?

China's reaching east.

Chip, That’s the golden question. They can turn the volume up or down on Chinese sentiment towards japan at will. All depends what Abesan is willing to offer, both economically and also in terms of towing the desired Chinese line and narrative. Keeping his mouth shut basically for his new mate. Smart? Yes. Right? History will be the judge.

He’s actually in a unique position with many cards in his favor too. Will be very interesting to see what the relationship looks like over the coming years. It is definitely game on and an opportunity for Japan to show the world who they are, and what they envision.

Ahh money talking again. With Trump digging into China’s profits, Japan now is a hand for the shaking. lol

Having a common understanding is likely to result in a smooth meeting.

Perhaps, this conference will not change the relationship with China dramatically.

China is concerned that a trade war will also occur in Japan.

Because trade wars have a major impact on China's economic growth.

Of course not, there's no absolute in politics, there's only the next time.

I have no idea why Japan has so outwardly lost that warrior instinct, this is a perfect storm of an opportunity for friends/allies of America to displace the Chinese.

It's obvious both USA and China is now locked in a dual, and on the face of it, based on reports from China's own government controlled media, there was never any good faith (or negotiation for that matter) on the Chinese side, there was only warfare. So Japan, be smart, be ruthless, and pull your operations back to Japan and reap the benefits, even if it's only temporary.

Making peace with China is better than making more weapons. The USA is trying to remain the worlds dominate power and will do anything. Like start a WWIII which would put a target on Japan. If there were no US bases, China would not be threatened and Japan would no longer be a target. What would China gain by attacking a peaceful Japan?
