It's a shame this is Japan and the end result will be a collective "shouganai" with the LDP keeping power, but TIJ.

So we either need to believe a document from 2015 created by Ehime Prefecture officials, or rather the Prime Minister’s office’s word that actually there was no such meeting as no documents were found in the Prime Ministers office. And the strange existence of an Ehime Prefecture document suggesting a meeting is for someone else to explain.
Sheez it’s a tough one.

He is taking seriously to completely remove the purulent matter that everything started from his mouth from every moment he started to hide the truth. His "samurais" can't help him anymore. At last, it meant anger punishes itself. Now, he runs away but I don't think he can prolong 75 days( the rumors everybody forget in 75 days, the quote in Japan) because more evidences will come.

Stout denial, it worked for Bush, Cheney and Nakasone.
Maybe it'll work for Abe too!

The absence of records will not free Mr Abe. On the contrarily, he is guilty of evidence tampering in addition to lying and cronyism. He must go.

Quick, Shinzo, run away!!

I’m going across the street to get you some orange sherbet
Fascinating thing is 30% of people in the next opinion poll will say that they support the Abe cabinet. We don’t need these corrupt abusive politicians, let’s have someone else waste our money for a change at least

Deny deny deny? Who started this trend, Trump or Abe?

Abe, probably. LDP politicians are a remarkably forgetful lot who never seem to know what their underlings are getting up to.

Except that's not the whole story, is it. From The Japan Times:
So, we have only Abe's word that there was no meeting. Anyone think Abe's word is worth a whole lot?

All that time spent sucking up to Trump has clearly had an impact on Abe's relationship with the truth.

Abe's always had a bit of a problem separating fact and fantasy.

Documents show Abe met Kake in 2015 to discuss the veterinary school.
Abe says: "The prime minister's office records were checked yesterday, just to be sure,". But Abe could have met Kake somewhere else, or the records could have been altered, or whoever was "checking" the records may have "accidentally" overlooked Kake's name.
It's incredible that Abe still denies being involved in these scandals as more and more evidence shows that he definitely was involved. It reminds me of that swimmer who was filmed stealing a camera: he denied it, even though there was video evidence of him doing it. Abe is no different.

Yes, one might get the impression from Abe's statement that they found nothing in the records about the meeting. In fact, as the Chief Cabinet Secretary pointed out, there were actually no records to check:
So they checked records that no longer exist. Anyone still believe a single thing Abe says?
