Tokyo organizers said the allegation was “beyond our understanding,” while Turkey’s Olympic committee said Diack’s reported demand was not the reason Istanbul lost.

Right, it's just the way of doing business.

Yeah, well, let an outside source do the investigation -- free of any back room meetings, of course -- and see what the results are.

When the foxes raid the henhouse, and the investigators of the chicken theft are the foxes, I somehow doubt that a fox will be found guilty for the raid. We only end up with fewer chickens and fatter foxes. Too bad that many of the chickens belonged to the taxpayers of the countries where the henhouses were raided, and that those taxpayers now have that much less chicken for themselves.

I don't think I will tune in to the Olympics this year, and I think I will make a conscious effort not to buy anything from or do business with any Olympic sponsor.

the Olympics are almost as corrupt as FIFA. Personally I choose to avoid both and have moved on to better things.

Internal investigation of course...

After the Utah scandal, bidding and organising committees understand that all documentation should be shredded and deleted to prevent close inspection, vis-a-vis the Nagano Olympics,

An internal investigation and no wrong doings were found....shocking. Sepp Blatter approves.

Must be using the same handbook used to initially investigate allegations of corruption in the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games bidding process. Why anyone would want the 5 ring circus coming to their city is beyond me.
