China's 'makers' battle mistrust in hi-tech community

When and only when the Chinese can develop a new technology from the ground up with out compulsory technology transfers from Western Companies, and do this again and again they will eventually gain trust BUT I don't see that happening anytime soon

Until there is respect for ideas with laws and enforcement that prevent patent and copyright theft, other countries will always have mistrust towards China. This needs to happen at all levels, from the President down to the guy running the corner computer parts store.

Perhaps it will never happen in the society in which there is no real competition in politics or economy.

The only thing that should happen by China is respecting IP and developing a tight legislation on this issue.

'Technology transfers' are taking place since humans left their caves. When an American MNC buys an European firm they buy 'technology' and vice versa it will be the same.

The Pepper robot sold by Softbank is actually developed in France and US cars became better by using 'technology' developed by Europeans in European Ford and GM subsidiaries.

The Allied occupants of Germany at the end of WW2 'transferred unknown technology' in benefit of their own industries. The involved German engineers and scientists were either abducted or threatened with prison time.

The Italians may deny it but their pasta and risotto culture is based on 'food technology transfers' from the Middle- and Far East.

Marco Polo brought some 'technology transfers' from the far east [ now called China] ,

with among them probably the most disrupting one of modern manhood, an invention that made it possible to process 'gun policy' used for example [among all examples by Western maritime nations] by the Britons to establish the Penal Colony :)
