Japan has no place to charge EVs in densely urban areas. This is why Japanese automakers have been pushing Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles in place of EVs.

If there's a place to park a car, there's effectively a place to charge it. I don't think that's the reason for Hydrogen Fuel Cell development.

Will they place the battery in a location that's easy to swap out a dead one for a charges one...like the spot gas cars have their battery?

Japan today has a large number of EV charge points (40,000) , greater than number of gas stations (35,000).
