I downsized from the 6+ when I got a 7. The + size just wouldn't fit well enough in pockets. I might go bigger again however if they make a "pro" version that works with the Apple Pencil. My wife has the SE. Even though it has a retina screen it makes me wonder how I ever could see the screen when I had a tiny, but very convenient, 4 that didn't have a retina screen. I guess I am getting old.

unless you're wearing ultra skinny jeans, (and I hope to god you aren't) a iphone+ is no problem for pockets

this is what they should've done with X, make it the largest screen. instead, they bafflingly switched to facial recognition and no home button.

and i hope they make the screen able to scan your fingerprint on this new iphone. that would really be woke.

My iPhone 6+ is great and I like the large size, changing what I wear to fit it, ie clothes with larger or more suitable pockets. Recently I junked the old smaller Sony back home and got a newer large-screen version there. Loving that one too.

One hesitation I feel towards a handset upgrade is the days of hassle to get my photos to switch over to a new iPhone. Last time it took a week before everything settled down. Also it seems I never use most of the new features being offered; I am comfortable using a system that I have grown accustomed to. Change for the sake of change, or for braggability, is for school kids or their ilk.

I distinctly remember the late great Steve Jobs stating, “We will never make a bigger iPhone!” He must be rolling in his grace.

I have an iphone7 and an iPad mini. I really don’t want a larger phone. I think it would be inconvenient.

Please. Just something, anything, that can replace the dozens of passwords I need to remember!

I thought the 7s was the answer when it had the fingerprint scanner...."buzz"....NO!

Still need to impute long forgotten passwords sometimes.

I'm getting the 24 inch one to fit in my board bag. It comes with a trolly and forklift

Why stop at 6.5? Why not 7" or even 10"!

I wish more makers would go back to full spec compact phones to match the large phone options. Give us a choice instead of deciding everyone has aging eyes and needs to hold their phone at arm length just to focus. Right now we have to decide between a large phone with top specs, or a one-hand friendly phone with limited specs.

thats innovation for you , making screens bigger to compete with Samsung and others that have been doing it for years. I personally wont buy any smartphone with a screen smaller that 5.5in

Yeah, it's called an iPad.

Yeah, thanks but no thanks. I'm fine with my 6S. Let them improve customer service first. Let them improve itunes compatibility and userfriendlyness first, i dont care about new gadgets or apps until they iron out all the basic and necessary stuff first.

RealCDN - just curious. Why?

Another year, another phone... older ones becoming unsupported quicker than before.

@zichi - Apple's the battery issue goes well beyond just trying to keep your phone running.... it's main motivation was to encourage you to buy a new phone.... still is. Some batteries will degrade quicker than others, and having a option to replacement relatively cheaply was one of the selling points of the iFixIt Repair kits. [Note: I do not have any free life time giveaways for plugging this product ;) ]

As I said, depends on the battery, I have 2 iPhone 5's - one dies quite quickly due to a defective battery, the other lasts the whole day... they are both at least 4 years old. The Apple iPhone Contract with AU not surprisingly lasts 2 years before the standard Apple iCare product expires and needs renewing, AU will give you 10K back for the old phone.. hence I decided to retain them before migrating to the iPhone 6 series.... not surprising my iPhone 5, was the one with the defective battery (yet its not covered by Apples cheaper battery replacement scheme). I also have a couple of old iPad 2's ... the battery within them is fine, though the iOS version is quite old. Since iOS 10, if you don't upgrade to the latest iOS, I've noticed that the battery drains quite quickly (from observation), presumably due to the frequency it checks whether you've upgraded or not... and when you do, the battery drain seems faster than the prior version. All seems to be an encouragement to upgrade to the next version. I haven't read of similar complaints from non-iPhone users, and my really old iPhone appears to be still functioning, albeit with a rather small screen in comparison to today's models, and is essentially a paperweight.

iPhone X appears to be a waste of money for what it offers - but has that "I'm a Rich" appeal to some. As newer iOS versions are released, and apps from the AppStore retired unless they work with the latest version I guess I will be forced to jailbreak my older phones in order to still use them for a bit longer - that is until the data exchange formats used by the Apps are tweaked, and then, the phones become paperweights.
