So why did we hear all the hype about England's "young squad".  and they finish 4th and England is super proud?

Mbappe has an incredible combination of technical skill and speed. Soccer is blessed.

France was the best team and they won. Croatia was the 2nd best team I say. Although it’s hard to say they’re much better than Belgium or Brazil. Many fans saw how good Croatia was when they put it to Argentina in the round robin stage.

Greatly entertaining World Cup!!

France won the World Cup because they had at least 5 stand out players whereas Portugal, Argentina, Uruguay, Belgium, England and Germany only had 1 or 2 each. Having said that, Mbappe is dynamite. So fast and deadly accurate. France would be favorites to win the next 2 or 3 World Cups based on their performance and average age.

Anyone's golden generation is just 2 World Cups

Look at Spain's and Germany's - and they won just 1 WC each

We got done by Iceland two years ago, four years ago we didn't win a game and scored 2 goals (albeit in a tough group). Forgive us if we dare to express emotions such as 'hope' or 'pride'.

@ Clippety, totally agree as my cockney grandad would have said, "the boyz did good".

"Croatia was when they put it to Argentina in the round robin stage."

Can anybody please translate all this new terminology coming into football nowadays?!

Getting confused.com with all this talk of goalies leaving the net, touchdowns, quarterback, fullbacks, halfback/tailbacks, offensive lines, tight ends, wide receivers and all that malarkey that's invading our game.

This is supposed to be football, fer God's sake!
