Sure; We BELIEVE him...just like "They" had NOTHING to do with the poisoning and assassination of the guy in Bulgaria years ago...that all the International Spy Agencies say could have NOT BEEN accomplished by ANYONE OTHER than the KGB (nor would anyone else have had any INTEREST to DO so).

Yeah; we believe you.

The Russian version of George bush senior (x heads of CIA/f s b) talking out of his chocolate starfish.

If he's able to get away with something like that... I think it's not too much to say he's the most powerful man on Earth right now.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Nope, like something out of a world where Russia has run state-sponsored doping programs, and invested money into causing disarray in the western world.

They deserve anything they get. Sleazy country. Absolute cesspit.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

But lets be realistic. They did it. We know it, they know it. They are just trying to troll further by pretending they didn't. Let them pretend, the rest of us aren't falling for that trolling anymore.

Of course. And Putin's smug demeanor as he denies the allegations is more proof of the disdain he has for the west.

Expel all Russian citizens from every country. Freeze all Russian money in every country outside Russia. Put sanctions on Russia.

Let's isolate this virus.

ABSOLUTELY.

If he's able to get away with something like that... I think it's not too much to say he's the most powerful man on Earth right now.

But that's the thing- We can't let him get away with that. Like stranger said Expel their citizens and diplomats, Freeze all their money in every country, and Put sanctions on them.

This man should be thrown in prison for botox abuse.

Exactly.

"Any sensible person would understand it would be nonsense for Russia to embark on such an escapade. Now, who else would like some nonsense?"

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Vladimir, please stop flapping your mouth. It is embarrassing. You should know how easy it is done. Remember you time in KBG?

7 ( +13 / -6 )

Like a fat man hiding behind a thin tree. Yes sure, you had nothing to do with it.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

you have to admire his chutzpah, even if a few (not very nice_ people die along the way.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

His points seem pretty valid. The problem with framing people is the real culprit gets away scot free.

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

He is very popular in Russia. He won 70%. He is more popular than Starlin.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

It's real sad that Russians are stuck in a permanent time warp, conditioned over centuries to be ruled by a Czar or a Communist "Man Of Steel". They just don't see why making Putin dictator-for-life is bad. They don't get why a truly free press is such a bastion and foundation of democracy, as exists in most of the civilized world. They accept whatever lies the Russian media controlled by Putin tells them, such as his total innocence in the horrible radioactive plutonium and nerve agent attacks on his opponents. They accept that Putin has enriched himself to the tune of an estimated $40 billion while President. The list goes on and on. It seems that the Russian people, who are so intelligent and outstanding in so many ways, will never be able to shake off the chains of one-man rule.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Putin claims that it would be crazy for Russia to do such a thing right before the election and soccer world cup, but that is exactly why he would order such an assassination at this time. Because people wouldn't think it makes sense, but Putin is playing the game so well. As is Xi in China. Any leader who changes the rules so he or she can be in power longer than the stipulated terms is a dictator.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Putin should be careful: this time he only got 140% of the vote, down from 200% last time.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Did he wink after saying this? His comments were for the domestic market, and he wants to project an image of strength.

It couldn't have been our nerve agents, or they would be dead. Wink.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

Putin and Russia aren't fooling anyone with their excuses. A former Russian spy was almost taken out with a Russian made chemical weapon after his daughter came to visit him. Why would any other nation have any motive to use a Russian made weapon to take out former Russian spy?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Some piece of work this guy! Unbelievable!

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Toshiko: "He is more popular than Starlin." I know you love baseball so you will get this reference--four time elected president of Russia vs. four time voted All Star second baseman Starlin Castro? Clearly a toss up.

St. Peter: "Why did you do it?"

RussPutin: "Because I can, and to show everyone what I can do. Covering up drug use, tampering with evidence? Pah! Easy."

Craig Murray is a discredited conspiracy theorist, so I'd be wary of believing him or his "sources".

Meanwhile, Vladimir will stay in power until he's removed, Mugabe style.

Unbelievable how so many people on JT have already forgotten what stories and false flags the UK/US did between 2002-2003 in order to get the Iraq invasion going. You deserve all that is coming.

Unbelievable?

"Russia arrested a former Soviet weapons scientist on charges of divulging state secrets after he published details about Soviet Novichok production in newspaper articles and a memoir."

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Putin, how about many, many, many other progressive critics and opponents of yours killed (or eliminated as you prefer to say) because you are so, so, so afraid of them? How about Boris Nemtsov killed just by Kremlin? How do you explain that almost all your critics, opponents, jurnalists that exposed your dirty politics suddenly got killed? You dont have to be smarter than a fifth grader to understand that. You were elected by naive people of Russia that lack judgement. You were elected like your admirer Trump was. Luckily for you and Trump there are still lots of people who have the judgement of a stupid moron in Russia and US. People of Russia and USA: tell me who is your President, and I will tell you who you are.

The first article focuses on the UK not allowing the OPCW in to test the samples. This damming evidence of a cover-up is slightly undermined by the OPCW being in the UK at the moment testing the samples.

The first link strongly disputes whether Novochoks exist and the second accepts that they exist but asserts that lots of people could have made them.

Craig Murray is simply a useful idiot with nothing of value to add.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Poor tiny Putin.

He and his government are the true victims, of course....

Congratulations.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Craig Murray is a discredited conspiracy theorist

Discredited in what way?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

When Trump lies, he genuinely seems to believe that people don't notice he's lying. Surely Putin couldn't be equally dumb?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Putin is clearly smarter than Trump, but like Trump. he knows his supporters don’t accept he’s lying or do not care he’s lying.

The rest can go to hell, or prison, or hospital...

4 ( +5 / -1 )

When Trump lies, he genuinely seems to believe that people don't notice he's lying.

I think when Trump lies, he genuinely doesn't know he's lying. He seems to have a very tenuous hold on reality and weaves bits of totally unrelated things he's seen into the made-up fabric of what he wants people to believe - what he wants to believe. Hence 'thousands and thousands' of people cheering on 9/11 in New Jersey, and bowling balls being dropped from a great height to test new cars.

Surely Putin couldn't be equally dumb?

No way Putin is dumb. He's the opposite of Trump.

That's not to praise Putin at all; the opposite of one extreme is still an extreme.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I hear the Democrats interfered in the Russian election to get Putin elected.

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

Craig Murray is a discredited conspiracy theorist

Everybody who does not the MSM agenda is a conspiracy theorist?

Another sad day for the world

You call a bunch of Western politicians and the small, but noisy chorus of their supporters "the world"?? LOL!!!

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

"I think when Trump lies, he genuinely doesn't know he's lying. He seems to have a very tenuous hold on reality"

That must be why he got elected president against all odds - he has a very tenuous hold on reality.

" Hence 'thousands and thousands' of people cheering on 9/11 in New Jersey, and bowling balls being dropped from a great height to test new cars."

That's nothing compared to Hillary's "We were under sniper fire" lol

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

I hear the Democrats interfered in the Russian election to get Putin elected.

That’s nothing. I heard Obama wasn’t a US citizen. I heard about sex tapes that didn’t exist. I also heard that Ted Cruz’s father was in on the JFK assassination.

Be very sceptical about what you hear.

Haven’t you heard about fake news?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

This is a news article about Putin, not Trump.

Why does everyone want to make everything on the internet somehow related to Trump.

Get over it, yeesh.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

"Secondly, Russia does not have such (nerve) agents. We destroyed all our chemical weapons under the supervision of international organisations, and we did it first, unlike some of our partners who promised to do it, but unfortunately did not keep their promises," Putin said.

No one's gonna make me believe that good ol' Russia didn't keep a few tasty 'recipes' & jars containing deadly bio/chemical weapons.

Whether we like it or not WMD including nuclear/bio/chemical weapons etc are here to stay.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

gold, they bumped-off Litvinenko in London using polonium. The chemical trail even went through the Emirates Stadium.

Struggling to understand what Russia had to gain by poisoning former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter. Is the West trying to spoil Russia's world cup event ? i wonder...

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

So, "the West is trying to spoil Russia's world cup event" by allowing Russian agents to attempt the murder of a punished-and-exchanged former Russian agent (and his daughter) on British territory? Faultless logic.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Everybody who does not the MSM agenda is a conspiracy theorist?

I managed to discredit him just buy a quick flip through the two articles noting the inconsistencies and factual errors.

He is just a useful idiot for the Kremlin .

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Struggling to understand what Russia had to gain by poisoning former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter.

You betray the motherland and you die, eventually, along with your family.

You don't know when, but eventually they'll come for you.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I managed to discredit him just buy a quick flip through the two articles noting the inconsistencies and factual errors.

He may well be a useful idiot for the Kremlin (he has a somewhat colorful background), but I don't see the inconsistencies you are suggesting. In the first article, he wonders how the UK was so quickly able to identify the agent. At that time, samples hadn't been given to the OPCW. In the second, he appears to be asking questions that many of us might ask. Given that much of the "official" info we are getting in the UK is coming from Theresa May and Boris Johnson, isn't he right to question its credibility?

Much has been made of the lack of investigation into various deaths of Russians in the UK over the last ten years. Theresa May was Home Secretary over much of that time. And who played tennis with the wife of a former Russian minister in return for a donation to the Conservative party? Interestingly, Johnson has defended that tennis game and said, "Unless and until evidence is produced against individual Russians, I do not think that the entire nation should be calumnified." That sounds somewhat similar to what Jeremey Corbyn said, but apparently Corbyn's a traitor according to much of the UK press.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He had 76%+. He is pooopular in Russia.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I don't see the inconsistencies you are suggesting.

In one article he is highly sceptical of the very existence of the nerve agent in question but in the second he claims that it is widely available to the extent that lots of countries have it.

It was only a quick skim but that's what came over - apologies if I misinterpreted.

And I will forgive him for the fact that he wrote the first article before the OPCW was invited over, but that's his problem - he is just itching to write articles pointing the blame elsewhere apart from the obvious perpetrator.

And while I agree with most of what Corbyn has says on the matter, he has made comments today which are again off-message. I haven't read the full details yet, but he is over-doing the withholding judgement bit.

He states :

"I think Russia has to be held responsible for it but there has to be an absolutely definitive answer to the question where did the nerve agent come from?"

He added: "I asked the Russians be given a sample so that they can say categorically one way or the other."

I bet if an ex-American spy taking refuge in Cuba had been bumped off with poison he would not have delayed pointing the finger. And I am sure that he does not seek the level of proof that the Americans were trying to assassinate Castro that he does in this case. It is just his mindset and natural bias.I don't see the inconsistencies you are suggesting.
