Things I don’t understand why someone that is not working anymore for the government still has access to state secrets.

Where does it say they have access to state secrets?

It seems you aren't even clear on what exactly security clearance is, much less why some people would have it.

Americans can only hope Brennan takes his case to an open court. It will then allow people on all sides of the political spectrum to see/understand why his public whining would benefit no one.

Brennan was this nation's lead counter-terrorism adviser from 2008 until be became the CIA chief ifrom 2013 until 2017. During all that time he did not do a resume-enhancing job at keeping Americans safe. To wit:

June 1, 2009, Little Rock, Arkansas: Abdulhakim Muhammed, a Muslim convert from Memphis, Tennessee, shot two soldiers outside a military recruiting center.

December 25, 2009: The Underwear Bomber attempted to ignite an explosive on a flight landing in Detroit.

April 15, 2013, Boston: Multiple bombs explode near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people.

December 2, 2015, San Bernardino, California: Fourteen people are killed and more than 20 wounded when two jihadists open fire at a Christmas holiday party.

June 12, 2016, Orlando, Florida: A mass shooting by an Islamic extremist at an Orlando nightclub left 50 people dead and more than 50 injured.

Brennan is no longer a government employee. He is now a talking head on fake news cable channels. Given his documented track record, it is laughable to think anyone within the U.S. intel community would seek his advice or counsel on anything pertaining to national security.

Those whom he wants to help should tell him: "Thanks, but no thanks."

Ok, now please list all the attack they did stop. Or do you always do your binary evaluations based on a single metric?

Brennan won’t win on this one.

But as troubling as the revocation of Brennan’s security clearance is, it won’t silence him. The truly dangerous trial balloon floated by Agent Orange is the revocation of Bruce Ohr’s clearance, since Ohr is a current civil service employee. Try it Trump and you better duck for cover at the legal blowback.

God Bless John Brennan.

God Bless John Brennan. -- comment

The U.S. victims injured because of Brennan's "leadership" from 2009-2016 would beg to differ. Those who were killed because of his ineptitude are unavailable for comment.

@Texas A&M

The incidents you list were domestic in nature, ie done by American citizens or residents in the US. The CIA is prohibited from collecting intelligence on "US persons." that's the FBI's job.

The CIA is in charge of overseas intelligence, like, well, the liquidation of Osama bin-Laden. You may have heard of it.

Wha legal blowback? The only people that aren’t happy about this are the ones that benefited from trying to peer into anything they can find on Trump and use it against him and now that Brennan doesn’t have it and doesn’t need it, that’s another nail in the coffin for the Trump haters, 8 more to go. Ohr and Klapper you’re next. None of these Ex- Fed employees need to have access like that if they’re going to use it against the President.

Brennan would have to get a constitutional amendment to do this. Not gonna happen.

@Jeff,

The incidents cited were performed by folks who either emigrated to the U.S. (the Boston Marathon bombers). flew into our country from an overseas destination (the underwear bomber) or were Americans who became radicalized while either traveling overseas (the Tennessee shootings), were turned into jihadis by foreign spouses (San Bernardo) or influenced by foreign family members (Orlando). Any way you cut it, these acts of terrorism are international in design and all took place under "God bless" John Brennan's watch.
