This shows one of the great weaknesses of the EU. Once a "migrant" is accepted in one country, they can simply go anywhere in the region. This leads to migrants 'shopping' for the best deal among the nations of Europe, which often happens to be Germany. Most normal countries are allowed to control their own immigration policies, but not in the EU. This is one of the big reasons for Brexit.

Oh, but think of the diversity and cultural enrichment!

Europe seems rather culturally diverse already. I don't think they need tens of thousands of illiterate low-skill people to "help" them diversity any more. Just look at what joy cultural diversity brought to English cities like Rotherham...

Wow. What a radical concept.

But, but, but Germany shouldn't be allowed to block brown people from illegally moving to their country. That would be "bad" and make them evil. Everyone should be allowed to live anywhere they want and pick the best place based on govt handouts.

TheFu, correct - as ling as its predominantly white countries that are being flooded with the, er, diversity.

Ok, so what’s your point?

It is all about discretion. Merkel didn't use discretion in her decision and it's costing the EU in many ways. This is what happens when one opens their arms wide and closes their eyes not paying attention to who walks into their arms.

America's founding fathers were all white men with roots in the British Isles. "Diversity" and "muliculturalism" are relatively recent concepts. The prevailing ethos until around the 1970s was a "melting pot," the antitheisis of "diversity."
