The UK already has a charge for customers wanting a plastic bag in shops, it has substatially reduced the number used in the UK. Plastic straws and cotton buds will likely be banned next year, but many businesses has already stopped using them or only give them to customers on request.. Costa Coffee has a recycling scheme for it's cups. More can be done, we are drowning in plastic. Other countries need to start getting over their plastic fixation too.
