The first big test for the SC with Gorsuch - a bellwether for the US. Will the SC allow this racist despot Trump to dictate immigration or will they defend the Constitution?

My bet is they will uphold the Constitution and Trump will be disappointed - again.

The court is predominantly constitutionalist so they will likely uphold the President’s authority to regulate immigration from high-risk countries.

Seems like a long time putting in place a "temporary" ban.

It bears repeating that NONE of the principals of the 9/11 terrorist attacks were from countries on the restricted list. Most of the principals were from Saudi Arabia and UAE.

How can a radical Muslim be identified?

A sharp increase in the number of stabbings, bombings, vehicular attacks, rapes and assaults in the west, can be linked to extreme religious ideologies.

Certainly, a reduction in numbers entering the west from countries known to possess a culture of intolerance and extremism should be implemented.

Saudi Arabia should be at the top of that list.....

The Constitution allows the president of the United States to restrict the entry of people he believes to be dangerous aliens in cases where congress has not specifically legislated on the topic. Obama excercised this power as well. The supreme court is not going to look behind the decision and declare that it was acceptable for Obama because he was smart, progressive and correct, while Trump is idiotic, racist and wrong. For better or worse the president is the president and he has broad discretionary powers.

It bears repeating that NONE of the principals of the 9/11 terrorist attacks were from countries on the restricted list. Most of the principals were from Saudi Arabia and UAE.

Unfortunately this is completely irrelevant. It's not the place of the courts to second guess the efficacy of the president's decisions and judge their legality on the basis of whether a 'better' decision could have been reached. If it falls within the power, it will be legal regardless of how ineffective it is.

But terrorist attacks in general didn’t only orginate from those countries.

That’s true.

How many Jihadist attacks on US soil have been carried out by people from countries on Trump’s list in the past near 2 decades?

The answer appears to be 1 as far as I can see. Somali refugee Abdul Razak Ali Artan in a vehicular attack at Ohio State University on Nov 28 2016.
