"Globalization has made the financial elite

Trump must also be including himself and his family in this group.

Israel, Saudi Arabia, Uruguay, India, the Philippines, Panama, the Dominican Republic, the UK, Mexico, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Korea, Turkey, Indonesia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Taiwan and China are among countries Trump’s known to have business connections with. (Russia? Mueller will find that out.) He’s got property and financial connections with each.

Who is Trump to talk about globalists? Or is he trying to convince his followers to support his global bund, saying his global empire and his international ‘financiers’ are superior to others? I’ll invoke the duck principle: if he looks like a globalist, talks..

I think all world leaders, especially America's allies, are united in their realization that the current President of the USA is a hugely negative, disastrous, completely awful person to be holding the job. At Davos they'll all smile and do the PR for the cameras, but behind the scenes they all know that Trump is--- to quote his own Secretary of State--- a moron. And a lying, racist moron to boot. Never has America been so leaderless, without a sense of direction, and angrily divided at home. It's scary. The fact that you wonder if Trump can avoid acting like an idiot says a lot about him.

Trump to urge fair trade

From wikipedia : "Fair trade is a social movement whose stated goal is to help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions and to promote sustainable farming."

I guess the US is a developing country now ?

One's own country "first," or "fair trade" on the part of other countries? Can't have both!

May, mekreal, Maron, all unpopular leaders, so trump can fit in.

Macron's approval rating recovered back up to 52% - which is unprecedented in modern France where once a PM's rating trends down, it doesn't trend back up

https://qz.com/1159399/emmanuel-macrons-approval-ratings-show-unprecedented-rise-in-popularity-in-france/

"After a record plunge in popularity, Emmanuel Macron is winning back support in France"

His approval rating jumped by 10 percentage points since October and to 52%

Those other leaders could only envy

"In his speech, Trump is expected to urge the world to invest in the United States to take advantage of his deregulatory and tax cut policies..."

Most business leaders these days have learnt from the lessons of the likes of Enron and the GFC. Sure, there'll be the cowboys who think they'll be able to ride the horse to riches and jump off before the crash, but deregulated markets promote bigger crashes that affect the savings of more everyday people simply due to the way savings are invested. Deregulate and the cowboys take as much as they can. I can only hope that Davos shows Trump the respect that he deserves... none.
