Gated communities are all the rage in the USA, now they have built one as their Embassy!

Crude, volatile and opposed to their values

Add spineless to that list. What a gutless moron.

Trump addressed the controversy again

Was there any controversy prior to Trump complaining and blaming Obama for decisions made under Bush and followed through by the next administration?

The location was specifically chosen with security in mind, and the high cost also followed directly from the security measures built in. The previous location had other buildings in close proximity on three sides and busy streets on all four sides. As usual, Trump is lying with every syllable.

It says something that so many of America's embassies around the world have to resemble military bunkers these days.

I know many people in the UK are actually upset that Trump isn't coming.

It would have been carnival season come early!

I don't think he cares one bit, just a waste of time.

If sticking them in the eye is gutless and spineless, by golly, he's got my high-five!

then why has Trump accepted an invitation for a State Visit?

I've been to plenty of parties and press releases where I was invited and accepted, but didn't want to go. Accepting an invite and wanting to go are two different things. Not a big deal. He'll live and all of us will as well.

Who is ‘them’ here?

Theresa May had a bit of a go at him for retweetimg dodgy videos from a trash racist group in the UK, but Trump said he has a good relationship with her and the UK. He said he wanted to spite Obama, but the reason given is fake news.

I can’t work out who’s eye is getting attacked here.

whose

so you now know the personal thoughts of Trump?

No, but it seems like every liberal does.

He didn't want to open the new embassy because he mistakenly thought it was a decision taken by Obama, when in fact, the decision was taken by Bush in 2007.

He said that to you personally?

Trump won't resist the temptation of the full pomp and ceremony of a state visit and dinner with the queen at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle.

Looks like he will.

Since he also owns property in the UK, a round of golf in Scotland.

Im jealous!

Who is ‘them’ here?

Rhetorical question??

I can’t work out who’s eye is getting attacked here.

Hmmmm.....

I still don’t know whose eye got attacked here and for what evidently just reason. It wasn’t a rhetorical question.

Who is ‘them’ in your sentence?

Take your pick.

The media just like to blow out of proportion how much Brits seem to care about Trump, if fact most of 'em just couldn't care less about him and his opinions. The fact he hasn't been yet doesn't concern your average Brit one second, there's more important things to think and worry about then another loud-mouth from America.

Trump's man-child act couldn't get any better than this.

Blames Obama for the embassy move. Too funnnnnyyy.

And not visiting his closest ally because he's scared of the people.

What a wimp.

Take your pick.

That’s extremely bad manners and as bad as ‘hmmm’.

Have the honesty and decency to answer a perfectly reasonable question. Who is getting it in the eye by Trump not visiting the UK? If you just dashed that off as an attempted defence of Trump, just say so.

Trump is thinking like his old real estate mogul about the embassy location

But embassies are less about "location, location, location" and more about security

Locations are for hotels; security for embassies

I’m sorry if you are not satisfied with my answer, and no I’m not doing that I don’t need to do that.

You haven’t offered anything to pick from.

This isn’t the way to discuss a topic. If you won’t tell me who is being poked in the eye, at least offer me a range of choices.

It’s a modest request and in the spirit of open, non-partisan and honest discussion. I know you value these ideas.

Oh, you’re smart guy and for so many years that I’ve known you, I’m sure figure it out.

This isn’t the way to discuss a topic.

Now you say that?

If you won’t tell me who is being poked in the eye, at least offer me a range of choices.

How about going back to the beginning of the story and reading it, that’s what I did.

It’s a modest request and in the spirit of open, non-partisan and honest discussion. I know you value these ideas.

I do.
