Well that's a relief. Trump managed to make himself a bunch of money by saving Chinese jobs.

Bait-and-switch Don strikes again.

"Make America Great Again" he baits, then suddenly switches to "America? Oops, I meant China".

ZTE, which is publicly traded but whose largest shareholder is a Chinese state-owned enterprise

Everyone who thinks ZTE isn't part of the Chinese dictatorship's strategic and geopolitical agenda to defeat the United States raise your hand.

Trump, selling out the US for his personal financial gain. And to pay off international 'financiers'.

He's just using the White House to push his brand name.

Rubio is right. Congress needs to block this deal and ensure they have enough votes to override any veto.

What an absolute chump. Fighting to save Chinese jobs at a crooked company.

What did you get, Donald?

To be honest, I'm not even sure if there is a problem in helping this ZTE. The details of why they matter are too vague to me.

What gets me about this whole thing is that it looks really, really bad. It would look bad no matter who it was that did it, Republican or Democrat, Trump or anyone. When you throw in the Chinese investment in Trump properties in Asia, right before this happened, and add that to the fact that it's a guy who was trying to start a trade war with said country right before said investment, it looks really really REALLY bad. And yet, there doesn't seem to be much of an uproar about this. Most of the right is silent, but the left seems surprisingly quiet about it as well. It looks like a blatant selling out of the country for personal financial gain. All Americans should be extremely concerned about this, regardless of ideology, and regardless of whether or not anyone else may have done the same thing or even worse.

People keep forgetting what is important. What's important is that Trump gets his $500 million bribe from China. US national security isn't even a consideration in Trump's mind. He's in it for himself, not the nation.

Time for congress to grow a spine and stop this idiotic deal which would do nothing but weaken the security of our country.

Some of us have to work you know. Gotta make that money. Anyway, as much as I support our President, I can't agree with this deal and think it's a huge mistake, I don't see any upside to it and it definitely puts American security at risk. Bad move all around.

And your verifiable proof of that is......

The Trump clowns get a peek at the corrupt side of their business Leader.

Another night mission by his longtime lawyer and fixer Cohen? Who knows :)

You can give a comment on the ZTE site under the Statement of ZTE Corporation on Activation of the “Denial Order” by U.S. Department of Commerce what you think about the current situation:

Be neat with your language as they differ a bit from the take away Chinese back home :)

@bas4 We had 8 years of viewing what business and Washington corruptions are really like, been down that road already.

Once again Trump's truebelievers are unable to find anything positive to say about their political messiah. Instead they deflect.

It must be disconcerting to Trump's base that both Putin and Xi (perhaps Un, too?) have outplayed him, maybe to the point where Trump and the US are going to become nothing much more than a market where Chinese (and maybe even Russian, assuming there's anything of value made there) goods are sold, but other than that a country that will continue to be seen as on the decline and incidental to the other empires.

The 20th century, though, was good for the US. Too bad Trump and the GOP are bringing the country down. But that's what Trump and his backers said they wanted, isn't it.
