Bad enough someone would try to steal a bicycle, but to think they were this justified in trying that they should get such revenge for being thwarted?

Can I blame all of America or is it only cool to blame all of Japan when bad stuff happens there?

One major difference between the US and Japan in such cases is that the kids actually MIGHT be tried as adults (Japanese law says it can happen, but I've yet to see any cases besides the threat of a 19 year old being tried as such).

Anyway, sick is right. Unbelievable is even more apt.
