Yeah, I would also like to know whether or not the airbags of my car are safe or not.

But will probably never find out. At least not until the day sh... happens.

You can go to a dealership of your car's manufacturer and ask them directly about safety recalls. At least in a country with functioning customer protection laws you could. In Japan who knows, but it is worth a try. Japanese summer is crazy hot and humid so one would think that most of the Takata airbags installed here would be susceptible to the same problem they are experiencing in the US.

My wife's Toyota corolla runx was already recalled last year and fixed. My Toyota truck has yet to show up on any list. http://toyota.jp/recall/

Here in Japan my Mitsubishi "i" was recalled a couple of months ago to have its passenger-side Takata airbag replaced. No word from the company about when they'll do the driver's side one, though. Scary.

Immeadiately close Takata for good, make an example of it and rethink global monopolies. Once something goes wrong with "global product" or component half of the planet (or more?) gets in trouble: software, food, energy, it hardware, medical instruments and many other industries are all pretty much in a hand of few super-large global players...
