Exactly...

Financial institutions and large businesses maintain and annually test their off-site backup facilities, so why not nuclear reactors as a normal part of doing business to protect against all sorts of risks.

Really confusing article. What do they want to say here?

It sounds as if Japan is wanting to further justify their reliance on fossil fuels, especially after the tongue-lashing they got at the recent climate summit.

Isn't LNG both cheaper and cleaner than coal? Why not convert all the coal plants to LNG, at least until such time as they can justifiably be dismantled completely?
