Maybe 30yen to the dollar seems about right. Get it together Japan.

It is the persistent interferance and manipulation of markets by governments and their central bank proxies that have caused the enormous distortions from which we have suffered and continue to suffer.
There is a wise old saying that the best thing a politician can do is nothing at all.

The winners here are people who borrow money in Japan. Mortgage rates are nearly 6% in the US. If you compare payments on a 30 year mortgage, someone in the US will pay almost double. The weak yen is pushing up other costs for people, but for most, housing is the biggest one. If you have big utility bills, it's probably worth borrowing to insulate your place and fit solar.

If I don't leave Japan, Im rich.

Dovish.. what a charming expression for QE easy money for financial institutions and their rentier interests.
The public could do with some dovishness in the form of a UBI.

Weaken? Yen is by now four times more expensive than the US dollar!

A weak currency means that the value is much cheaper than the US dollar.
Euro is strong because is almost pair to the dollar, 1 to 1.
Argentine peso, Bolivar, Brazilian Real are weak because you need thousands of them to buy 1 dollar.
Here I should explain about the petroleum price parity with the dollar, but you can make your own research if you're interested in global economics.

Are'nt most of the "decisions " on moving currency around made by AI and computer algorithms and the like.?
I studied economics at Uni in the late 1970's where there was actual human involvement in decision making.
These days "investment giants " more likely to hire a Maths Phd. than an economist.
Mid 1980's the Aussie dollar was known as the "Pacific Peso " {lol} so dont despair....what goes up must come down and vice versa.

When Japan produces locally, something locally that others want, then the Yen will become stronger.

Though, that said, for Countries that have borrowed from Japan, this is a great time for them to repay the debt in full.
