For Japanese who don't know, the CRJ program is at the end of its lifespan, and Bombardier developed the CSeries(now called Airbus A220) to replace the CRJ.

Bombardier is offering the CRJ business as the condition of dropping its ongoing lawsuit against Mitsubishi over hiring of Bombardier engineers to run the MRJ program.

I bought Bombardier shares about 20 years in the belief that the rail and public transit industry would boom in the years ahead. But then the company enlisted a couple of flamboyant, ego-driven CEOs who ignored the train business to focus on the airliner business - just in time for 9-11!

During this, my stock when from $12 to $25 and then by the time the CEOs did their business, $2, by which time the company was on life support. They got huge compensation and took home massive bonuses for destroying what was once Canada's greatest industrial company.

The current board have just been awarded 50% pay hikes.
