Yep! Why pay staff $15 an hour in the US when you can pay $4 an hour in Mexico.

Because it will be made in Japan, it will only be more attractive to the potential buyer.

The Fit is still a very good subcompact car, but I'm sure the profit margins for Honda are slim compared to their SUV offerings. For that reason, it makes sense that it would be the model most vulnerable to any trade deals or exchange rate fluctuations.

Also, reading between the lines, it's very possible that Honda expects to keep producing the Fit using a high percentage of parts and components imported from lower cost countries. As the Fit is the most price-sensitive car in the Honda lineup, this may be unavoidable in order to protect Honda's profit margin.
