So the Japanese Govt as one of the major stakeholders in JT, is pursuing it's relentless sourcing of revenue, to the point of being marketers of death in developing countries.
They support this simply as a "business" decision, failing to acknowledge that a poor country like Bangladesh can ill afford to take on the huge health and social cost of increased tobacco use over the ensuing decades.
Giving that $1.5 billion to NGOs and others to help develop the health and education infrastructure of Bangadesh would be a far greater and more magnanimous decision.
Stinks.
