The Government of Japan has no place to threaten the Government of he UK to definite a dereliction of/to a democratic mandate to leave the European Union.

Why are you talking like they are doing you a favor by investing in your country? Wasn't England the one begging Toyota not to leave, and for Japan to invest more in their country? This delusional syndrome is something i can never understand no matter how hard i try.

There is no "democratic mandate" for No-Deal Brexit, so Japan cannot interfere with one. People simply voted to "leave". There were no specifics.

Kono is not saying don't leave the EU, only don't do it in the most disruptive way possible. Trump has commented on who should be the next British PM, which is far more interference.

I'm afraid that Japan will have zero sway in this discussion, for if the British public ignored the IMF, the EU, President Obama and their own PM, David Cameron, they'll be unlikely to listen now.

It's all political machinations now, and it's a fair risk for all businesses. I worked for a Japanese joint venture that lost tenders/contracts in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam (all to Chinese companies). Political machinations is part and parcel of doing business in a foreign land IMO.

Definitely Japan cannot dictate or threaten any other country's course of action. However, it could indicate and express its concerns.

However in this case, it appears that Japan had over estimated the benefit of EU and placed too much expectations and committed too much of its economic plans to having UK as part of EU, such as the free flow of goods from UK to EU. The threat may also be from EU to Japan more than Japan trying to tell UK what to do.

I had to laugh at that headline "Japan warns". UK's intetnal politics are no concern of Japans.

Certainly Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono has not made threats, warnings but not threats, the same however cannot be said Koji Tsuruoka Japanese ambassador to the United Kingdom though.

I think UK had begged Japan to invest in UK and had promised that UK would never leave EU.  Japan's ambassador deserves to make some warning or threatening if he did.

Well Koji Tsuruoka gave this interview to the Guardian I would not describe as threatening. However Koji Tsuruoka apparently was more candid when the subject was broached with Jeremy Hunt. Of course that is if one can take Jeremy Hunt word?

I don't know what you're talking about. Japan is very much in line with Brexiteers' aspirations. There's no "free movement" of people here, customs unions, backstops, etc., etc.. Indeed Japan has a strict, controlled immigration system that Brexiteers can only dream of, and independent sovereign customs operations.

And there will be a snowball in Hades when Japan integrates itself politically with its neighbors. LOL. Until the very recent TPP program, Japan has long led a "no deal" existence that served itself very well.

The true hypocrites are the Remainers who have chosen to live in the sovereign, politically economically independent island of Japan than back in integrated Britain. They should be kicked out.

Japan stop meddling in UK affairs. Perhaps, the UK should retaliate and demand Okinawa be let have it's independence from Japan, or demand Japan stop's it's Whaling activities, or even Japan to cease it's claim to certain islands which in itself is regionally destabilizing.

When it comes to Business, Japan got fed backhanders by various UK Governments to bring their manufacturing to the UK. It was almost akin to State Companies under the guise of being Private... Those UK Government's are to blame more than Japan here though...

"Brexit" is a good thing for the UK, the British people are Independent & Creative thinkers (unlike their Japanese counterparts), they're also distinctively separate, Culturally from others. (Boozing and bad behavior overseas excluded). The Europe of today, however is somewhat attempting to curtail all of those things.
