Better off buying a Tesla.

Nissan is not long for this world

I agree. The international community is not the J-government or the sheepish J-public. People will not forget Nissan's treatment of Ghosn who lead them to financial success.

Better start looking to domestic markets and selling in 3rd World countries.

This is a series hybrid like the Chevy Bolt. The engine is not connected to the wheels and merely generates electricity for the motors. So its an electric car with an engine as a generator in place of a big battery. Since its an electric car, it'll have lots of low end torque and feel peppy.

The Japanese site e-nenpi says it gets 21km/l real world, which is very good for a 4wd car. The Toyota hybrids beat it, but still very good. Since there is an engine generating free heat, it may be more efficient in winter than an actual electric car like the Leaf which needs to use battery power for heat.

Plain ugly, characterless. But that latter problem goes for all cars these days. Take the logo’s of any brands of cars from Kia to Mercedes and impossible to see from the outside which is which. Horrible contraptions in stead of the beautiful design marvels in the years till upto the 80’s.

I rather walk.

They got $1bn of free cash just this September, and that's what they have done with it.

Don't rise your hopes.

no thank you!

When looking at the fuel economy, I noticed that Nissan's e-power Serena minivan (2wd) gets 17km/l. That's great for a big seven seater van, but not exceptional, because the other hybrid vans like the Esquire and Step Wagon now get the same. This about double what a typical van did twenty years ago. Kudos to the engineers at the car companies for pulling this off.

I used to have an old 1990s Nissan Elgrand and that got about 6km/l. It cost me 20,000 yen a month just in fuel. I replaced it with a hybrid van that worked out essentially free because of the saving in fuel.

Didn't check the facts before you posted ... eh?

That's Ashwani Gupta.

as it pulls back... to focus on sales in Japan, China and the United States.

Sayonara, Sunderland, then?

UK workers will be delighted with Boris.

Think how great the world would be if schools taught financial literacy.

Good luck Nissan.

No more monster.

Nissan is done.

Some of the Note line were really good. I liked the concept of a small engine solely for occasionally charging the battery, and this much more compact battery (1/20th size of normal EVs) fitting below the driver's seat, in order to drive the wheels.

This design, though, is sadly not really my cup of tea.

Best of luck, anyway.

I think that the Sunderland site would be an excellent place to manufacture Tesla vehicles.

Konnichiwa Sunderland.

I will not buy anything from nissan with its bad track records.

Could be right, Mickelicious. I think that there will be even more fierce completion in the car industry when the pandemic subsides.

As for the subject in hand ie. Nisssn, I think that they will have to do a lot of streamlining in order to stay profitable and viable. Interestingly enough, that was the strategy of Nissan's former CEO Carlos Ghosn.
