We understand that the raw details of the misconduct have yet to reach each of Renault's board members,"

because you have not been transparent.

Saikawa said on Monday after Nissan directors rebuffed the shareholder meeting demand. "We hope the board will listen to our explanation."

Why should they listen to you after YOU rebuffed them??

I really think that this mess will shake up the Japanese establishment and may have far reaching consequences such as friction between Japan and the EU at large. It keeps spiraling out of control.

I would imagine Renault is going to be asking Nissan some pretty hard questions. If the "raw details" of the alleged misconduct have not yet reached the Renault board members this seems to be a bit problematic considering Renault owns 43% of Nissan.

It will be interesting to hear about the outcome

Strange that this involves Mitsubishi, which has heavy connections to LDPand Nippon kaigi and kanrensan, but no mention in major headlines...

Saikawa and Nissan have no bargaining chips. There is no reason to be equal partners because he has been failing as a leader after a foreigner saved his company and helped 2 other companies become a powerhouse.

Saikawa thought that he was going to humiliate Ghosn and come out a hero. He has only shed light on his own incompetence, and he is becoming less trustworthy as more information comes out. The Japanese Directors are incompetent too. I think Renault is going to play hardball soon because if they wait too long, Saikawa and Nissan will attempt to burn it all down or ask the government to acquire it.

Saikawa was relying on the Japanese prosecutors, but with the spotlight on them and the whole world watching, they can't cheat and manipulate evidence like the usually do. The longer they try to hold Ghosn and Kelly without and official charge; the worse it looks for all things Japanese in this situation.

Renault controls Nissan controls Mitsubishi = Renault controls Mitsubishi!

I wonder how Saikawa would feel if he was arrested by police in Amsterdam as soon as he stepped off the plane, thrown in jail with no legal representation and no contact with the Japanese Embassy, and kept there for months.

They should invite Saikawa to France, have some wine and Cheese at a Chateau, trump up some BS and detain him! LOL

Cold War Tactics LOL

Exactly. But my biggest fear is that Ghosn will be found dead and his death will be ruled a suicide. Its very plausible, as I can't see any way out for either Japan Inc nor the Japanese government, all of which seem to have a hand in this. If they don't contain the situation soon, their house of cards is going to collapse. So it is very plausible that they might try to snuff him out.

Japan would have a field day. But unfortunately, they think that they have special rights and should be treated well while not allowing that same common courtesy to the people living in their country.

Glad the used a much better file photo than that one from the other day with him sitting at a crappy old table with nothing by an unlabelled bottle of water on it.

I suggest Renault dump the stock and managing position in Nissan to SAIC Motor, Dongfeng or TaTa ...

That should be well funny... and a guarantee that all current execs in Nissan will be gone...

or even split it between all 3... Saikawa and his ilk will have a stroke hearing that

TO * EVERYBODY , Renault France , Pls do not be convinced by saikawa, He has to meet U all because He is Japanese & his ass is on fire. Carlos or Kerry do not write or read Japanese. This is a bluff on the side of saikawa is a big bluff. Pls be sure of , what I wrote.I am very willing to meet the French ambassador in Japan. I do not want anything from Renault or Carlos or Kerry. I know the Bad Japanese is callinga bluff. Pls do not listen To him.I am also very willing to meet Carlos lawyers in Japan. I have learn very much abt Nissan & Sharp cases. This is a big bluff that's is all. The back stabber ass is in fire because he is Japanese and he knows the Japanese law will impeach him & he wants to convinced Renault France because of the share holding problems. Pls note , I do not want anything from anybody, I just cannot watch this kind of bad Japanese kabuki, who has only one main player & one counterpart. This meeting to use his words, do not accord with Japanese laws.

Pls also note that at the last press-conference in Japan , regarding Nissan Tokyo, the kabuki player is by himself. This mean in Japanese , nobody believes him anymore. Not the good Japanese share= holders ,anybody. This press picture is the conclusion that he had lost support from all good Japanese, no matter, how moral law is held in Japan. It is a sign of lost of support from Nissan or Mitsubishi Japan. It has become his talk only and only his talk. Pls do not give up, the world is watching Renault France. High package or whatever, it was agreed by Nissan Japan. A poor negoctiator is a poor negociator , not doing a correct job for Nissan Japan is very clear. Sales have falenl in Nissan Japan , all people can see that. This actor have eaten food from Nissan Japan made by Carlos for 20 years. No good Japanese will support him. We the good Japanese still have moral law in our lives. We know the world is watching.
