Cost savings and realignment from mergers in corporate speak mean job losses plus bigger bonuses for executives as share value temporarily increases.
Holding companies, massive licensing agreements, cross border transactions and multiple transfer of assets means less transparency and greater opportunity for tax avoidance.
Only winners will be the merger lawyers and accountants, and a few shareholders.

First, Renault should forget Nissan , which is having problems in Japan. These problems were made by Japanese president saikawa & his gang of oyajis. Then, as Renault is French find new partners instead of all current candidates. Maybe a better solution and not waste time. Maybe a suitable put togather the French labour union & other investors, who really know , what have to be done to be profitable instead of largest.Largest , in this century do not mean important as 5 years ago. Got it ???.
