Nagayama, previously CEO of Chugai, Sony Board member, and now ex-Chairman Toshiba. Lurching from failure to failure. A corporate suit, he looks like he was promoted way above his competence level.

This incident will set back perceptions of the Japanese market to the 1980s bubble era when it was assumed that it was systemically rigged against investors by backroom cabals.

Coverage is suggesting that this is a landmark event and progressive.

I think it more likely that the government will increasingly allow foreign shareholders to only hold 'non-voting' stock in Japanese companies, on the grounds of 'national security'.

Actually, He was one of the people responsible for Sony's turnaround.
