"It was a failed experiment." Yes, I agree. There was a Seiyu in my town, with a few imported items such as sports and camping goods and beer, but that was torn down a couple of years ago. Now there is a parking lot, I believe...

It was a failed experiment. If it's not the same prices as Walmart, it's not Walmart.

Nothing that sets them apart from other Japanese supermarkets. Been to one just out of curiosity and didn't find a larger selection of foreign labels and definitely no prices that would indicate a price-war to compete with the Japanese chains.
