A few days after Bezos declares his philanthropic generosity. These tech moguls are like The Gilded Age over again.

Bezos doesn’t run Amazon anymore

The e-commerce giant this week reportedly will lay off about 10,000 workers, or roughly 3% of its corporate employees, the largest job cut in the company’s 28-year history.

= mass layoff?
Also...
IMHO, ecommerce is the only innovation to 'ease' the effect of high inflation. The narrative of this story is rather weak.
Why not say it like it is? Bezos made massive blunders with investments in Rivian etc. and workers are paying the price. Even Bezos knows he's made mistakes, that's why his PR team had to put out a 'Bezos - good guy' PR this week saying he'll donate his wealth.

Inflation is really biting unto non-essential purchases. More after tax income going to food and energy means less money for home shopping.

Company loyal to its workers. Worker loyalty to its company. Not.

Support local business instead. Don't give these corporations your hard earned money

I have no issue whatsoever with being a customer of Amazon. It's delightful, utterly perfect transaction almost every time, and when it's not it's fixed to my expectation. Did I say 'competitive' pricing...
I do have a massive problem with management and Bezos making awful, predatory take over of other businesses, and when they can't manage the businesses, they fire workers instead of themselves. This can only mean an ever shrinking middle class, because eventually, they'll all loose their job, it's only a matter of time. It's already happening in cities like San Francisco.
