Lucky Amazon.
My boss started bringing staff back to the office last month, where nobody has been vaccinated and he, his boss and a whole pack of oyajis walk around for most of the day with no mask on.

But will they be allowed to take reasonable bathroom breaks or will an empty water bottle be provided? https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-warehouse-workers-have-to-pee-into-bottles-2018-4

Recently had a conversation with my family back home.
They are all working from home and could not understand why my 2 adult children and wife here in Japan would like to return to working at their company offices.
It took a video call and a tour of our home for them to suddenly get it.
I work from home, I have for years now, but I am a Craftsman/artisan with a dedicated workshop that I can leave separating work from home life.
The 3 have to live, work, sleep in the tiny bedrooms as Japanese homes do not have spare rooms like many in North America.
My bedroom is now this space with a bed, dresser, desk, chair, monitor computer and tiny spaces to squeeze by to get into bed, even opening the closet means trying to move things around so we can get in.
My wife's company decided that working from home is a permanent thing, they move the office to a space less than a quarter of the size with no desks and few employees physically present.
So what was an expensive house we thought would be spacious and comfortable by Japanese standards is now a cramped home/office where everyone has to be careful and quiet because others may be on zoom meetings.

Not to worry. I hear they will provide each employee with adult diapers so that they will never have to leave their desk for a toilet break, saving the company valuable time!

Bad company decision. Overheads. Lighting costs, water costs, heating, cleaning, security staff, etc.
make them work from home and pay by themselves!

Sounds like capitalism is doing fine, and is cool and good.

There is a synergy from having everyone in the same place at the same time. Some companies address that by having different groups in the office either at different times of day or different days of the week. 1+1 =3 sometimes.
