I am pretty sure that the sky high prices for all their flights do NOT hurt their profits.
Moonraker
No thanks to the taxpayer for helping keep them afloat?

I still would not invest in aviation. Massive exposure to global forces of nature, politics, economic....no wonder 4 out of 5 US airliner maker have exited tge business or gone broke. The only other airliner maker Airbus would not exist without massive subsidies, andvtgen there's the CCP money pit Comac looming as well.

Ridiculous overinflated prices!
shame on them!
kurisupisu
Yep, massively high prices await those buying tickets this year

I agree with all the above comments about the ridiculous airfares that ANA is charging. Was looking at a ticket home which I could always get for Y150~160K, this summer the cheapest ANA has is Y350K. While I understand that the yen is weaker and oil is higher, double the price is out of control. Just like the Tokyo hotels I red about doubling their room rates, this is a way to try and recover all the money they feel they lost during the pandemic!

Crazy that an airline can make small profits with such skyrocketed prices
Justchillin
Of course they “finally” made up for the losses of the last 2-3 years and we are paying for this, dearly.
The greediest airline on the planet!
Shame on you ANA!
If it wasn’t for the miles I still have (which they won’t let you even use on international routes) I’d never fly with them again.

@Moonraker: Incorrect.
No one forcing any of you to fly with them. They are not a tax payer funded enterprise. Floated company and have shareholders to answer to - me included.
Damn good airline to fly with in my opinion. Excellent hard product on the London / New York route now.
theResident
..yes I mean Tokyo-London and Tokyo -New York before there are any pedantic comments.
Tell_me_bout_it
Do you mean their "new" triple 7-300s they launched before pandemic? I flew on their NH211 when the new aircraft flew its second flight. Service was horrible. Easily one of the worst airlines in Star Alliance.
Moonraker
Funny, I seem to remember a taxpayer-funded Go To Travel campaign for package tours, including air fares. Memory is not what it was but was I wrong?
Dango bong
even if they fail they are guaranteed govt bailout
Yubaru
But still a profit!

No they aren't. and it's too well run an operated to NEED it!
JAL DID, because it used to be a government owned airline, in fact the government still holds stock in JAL.

There is a little thing called supply and demand at work. The flights are full so they can charge the market price for that flight.
Demand is defined as willingness and ability to purchase. If one lacks either, one has no demand for said good or service.

@Tell_me_bout_it: I have flown in The Room and The Suite several times pre and post pandemic. I find both the hard product, soft product and service excellent.
EFD
There's also a reason that ANA can charge a premium. Because people are willing to pay for it. The company has been a Sky-Trax 5-star airline for 10 years in a row.
And yes, The Room is incredible.
RKL
Just booked the room to DC.
For me, the service has been hit or miss the last three years on ANA intl.
factchecker
ANA despite it's price gouging is not the worst in the alliance. It's service isn't bad.
Give Air Canada, Lufthansa or United a whirl and then come back and have another whinge.
