ANA warns of strike action on Tuesday

ANA said Monday it is continuing urgent negotiations with the unions to avert 24-hour industrial action on Tuesday. Should the strike go ahead, ANA said that roughly 21.5% of 941 domestic flights could be subject to cancellation and/or delay. No international flights are expected to be affected.

Passengers intending to take ANA domestic flights on Tuesday are requested to check the status of their flights with the ANA Reservations Center (0570-029-222), on ANA Sky Web or by contacting their nearest ANA branch.

An ANA spokesman said, "We are very disappointed that our four pilots unions have threatened to take strike action. This action is unnecessary and will prove disruptive."

I guess they want to give JAL a boost.

That's interesting. I heard that the new 787 Dreamliner is coming to Japan sometime next month. Is it merely coincidental?

JAL just uped it's fuel surcharge didn't they? Are all these events connected?

I wonder if this has to do with their new LCC Peach?

@NetSamurai ANA also filed their increased fuel surcharges the day after JAL, but I never saw a report about it.

A Union that actully negotiates, withdrawing their labour, never ever ever thought I would see this in Japan. Good Luck to them and let's see more of it. Companies have too much power.

Oh my! If they do this just before the yearly coincidental oil shortage expected at exactly the peak traveling time of J-people it might actually hurt the company!

I say strike, people.... and strike over the summer season so the companies suffer.

Not enough information provided for the reason of strike here. If for a safety issue, they will get my support.
