The American economy is in a shambles, but the stock markets are soaring. It doesn't make sense.

@1glenn, is because while most people are unemployed and need handouts to survive, most of the important companies itself are doing fine. Human demand for goods had not decrease nor will it disappear. Trump policies might be unpopular for most, but he himself is a business man and knows how to make money for the nation. All his strategies are to make sure US come first and still able to make earn a profit. Even now when with his trade war with China, they are still selling large amount of food supplies to China. Is because China had been heavily effected by the monsoon season and their stock supplies are decreasing.

The economy of America is not in shamble as you think. Is just that the people are kinda chaotic. Their export are doing fine. This is also why most business men rather vote for Trump than for the democrats who while have many great dreams but doesn't know how to make a profit.

you don't know what youre talking about, 30 million still dont have jobs, 10trillion wiped from the markets in the worst collapse in 90yrs, all the printed money is just manufacturing another bubble, even legendary investors like Buffet aren't buying , they know another collapse is coming

 It doesn't make sense.

It kind of does make sense. Investors believe the covid situation is temporary and set for improvement and they don't want to miss out;

the Fed has lowered interest rates;

the govt is giving out massive stimulus;

and many of the indexes' heavyweights, like Amazon and Microsoft, are doing tremendously well.
