I have been trying to understand why the American stock markets have been going up, during a time when the economy is not doing very well. Could it be that because interest rates are so low, people are borrowing, buying stocks, and paying the interest on the loan with the dividends that they collect? If so, the stock market will collapse once interest rates start going back up, which could happen if China decides to make money tight.
