For any company like Mitsubishi, it is always a wise move to acquire competitive companies with related technologies or manufacturing capabilities before they are taken by some competitor that may benefit more from it and become a handicap. As with Nissan with Renault, acquiring a market already established by another and to take over some already productive manufacturing facility makes much management and business sense.

Sad day for Bombardier and for Canadian industry. Mitsubishi has a lot more money to throw at a fundamentally flawed project.
