Thanks, but pass. May be ultra-expensive, but I doubt it's any better than things MUCH cheaper. In fact, as has been proven time and again even on tarento TV programs, 90% of people don't know the difference between what is supposedly high quality and low, be it rice, sake, melon, cake, "Kyo-yasai", or what have you, never mind in scandals where restaurants get caught serving non-Japanese products but calling them Japanese. In blind taste tests they get it wrong more than half the time. I think Japan is the only nation where I've heard people say "expensive" is a positive adjective, but don't get suckered into buying this because it's more expensive and therefore "must be more delicious".
But, have at it if you want. Most people I know that spend heaps on such things or go to places raved about usually end up taking a drink or bite, waiting the mandatory 10 seconds before saying something, then give the equivalent of "meh" ("Ummmmmai!" is mostly reserved for said variety shows).

@smithinjapan - I hear you. I love sake, but like wine, the most expensive isn't always the best. Just trust your palate in the end. Regarding these "tarento," I could care less what they say or do. Just entertainment in the end.

My local sake shop has a bottle for ¥450,000. Asked if he’s ever sold one, he said no, but he sold one years ago for ¥500,000.
I guess drinkers are more intelligent than tuna buyers.

Did they use instant rice,it would of been quicker

Businesses will use any buzz word to increase sales, from hand made, to hand picked, to hand woven, and now hand cultivated, what difference does it make when rice is grown under the same Sun, breathing the same air, and drinking the same water??? then cultivating makes NO Difference what so ever.

A friend of mine from England once told me when I first arrived in Japan, he said, here it's all about Image, Image, Image, you can charge almost any price as long as you Wrap it and Package it right, no one cares what's inside as long as it looks good on the outside, Ultra Expensive is the same, Just an Image thing and it works.

Give me a 25 year old vintage Japanese whisky any day of the week over sake!

Famous story in New York, where a couple ordered a $25 bottle of wine and a couple business men ordered a $2,000 bottle. The waiter made a mistake and got bottles mixed. He didn't notice until the wine was almost finished when he noticed his mistake. The two tables didn't even know the difference. So would I pay $2000 for a bottle of wine or sake, no of course not.
