Based on what numbers? 40.7% more has not so much information value. 1,000 cars sold only, and then a year later 1,407 cars, would also be 40.7% more. lol

You have to read to get the numbers.

In 2024, almost 11 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) were sold, a year-on-year increase of 40.7 percent, the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) said Thursday.

China has a population of 1.4 billion. I hardly think 1,000 would be a sensible guess.
