It's called "dumping"
Amazon does the same too - create an oversupply, then sell less than other competitors to drive them out of business, then raise the prices

Let's ban Chinese made solar panels in the name of national security. The panels are spying on us.

@isabelle
Sure, live in your WTO rules world where the dominant player is the US with the highest resource gobbling population on the planet.
Also, how naive can you be as not to imagine that other countries do not engage in any form of ‘tradecraft’?
The world is more than just shades of black and white…

Did we call them bad names?

That's not doing anything for the planet. That's trying to make a buck. China is still building tons of coal power plants.

It's both sad and hilarious to think that just a few years ago the EU, China, Japan and others (not the USA of course because of reasons) set ambitious goals to reduce climate warming CO2 emissions. China dutifully investing in the manufacture and R&D to produce green products such as solar and NEVs.
China is busy installing such technologies in country to reach climate affirming goals. At the same time the EU, Yanks and Japan have put huge tariffs on these Chinese green products. It's a clear case of ideology/USA pressure over the well being of the planet.

No, complaining about: WTO rule-breaking subsidies and dumping, poor/forced labor practices, making "green" tech with massive amounts of coal power and environmental destruction, using connected devices to facilitate CCP spying, etc., etc.
The usual stuff that China does.

China subsidizes the industry so they can charge less, undercut the competition in every other nation, drive competitors out of business and own the entire industry. Hardly a blessing. More like a plague.

Isn't access to cheap affordable solar energy good for the world and environment?
MarkX
Maybe if many in the West(the US) didn't demonize solar power and global warming, more companies would have invested in factories and technology in the US, not allowing China to corner the market. But now that it has, slap huge tariffs on them, all the while destroying the planet, and protecting the profits of Big Oil!

Complaining about China producing green energy ?
Surely, the capacity to use cheap solar panels for energy production is a blessing!
Then it’s time for the ‘grid’ to be upgraded and storage batteries to be used.
Oh, the Chinese make the cheapest storage batteries also therefore trade embargoes are needed to make sure the consumer misses out on cheap and independent energy management.
