China's BYD, Hino announce electric truck venture

BYD has a factory building electric buses and more recently electric trucks but they're junk. They win contracts from US transit operators on promises of performance and low price but two or three years down the road these transit operators are stuck with buses that can't meet their range requirements and that require a lot more maintenance than they pitched during the contract competition. Kludge.

I should have said BYD has a factory in the US building electric buses .................... It's in Lancaster California just off Sierra Highway and Avenue I.

Maybe Desert Tortoise but with Japan in form of Hino am sure quality will go up, I think LiFePO is the future chemistry, maybe pantograph charging ?

Hino is a subsidiary of Toyota and if their trucks have as many faults, stupid design features and are as knuckle busting hard to perform even routine maintenance on as our two Toyota cars then this won't end well I think.
