One thing can be certain from all we've seen since this virus started, China is lying.

Either China is lying ( highly likely), or this is what was planned from the beginning and China has been lying( highly likely). Anyway my money is on China lying

China under Emperor Xi in particular lies and cheats. There is no credibility to these numbers. China must be stopped now. I have very consciously tried over the past 5 years to buy Nothing made in China. And all foreign companies should rehome their manufacturing.

We will all regret it if we do not stop China now.

There is no way the Communist China economy is growing. Completely fake news from the Communist propaganda machine. Why arent journalists questioning these dubious numbers? And this, from a supposed economic "expert":

"We expect to see continuous improvement in the upcoming quarters," said Marcella Chow of JP Morgan Asset Management in a report.

Nonsense, of course, from a corporation desperately spruiking business. Check the surname of this "expert", theres a hint.

The Communist China economy is sinking. Fast.

How anyone who's considered "experts" on China would believe ANYTHING that comes from ANY official CCP mouthpiece!

Somehow I'm getting nostalgic for some 80's New Wave...I'm thinking "Lies, lies, lies" by Thompson Twins. What does everyone think? Now back to my Chinese Bridge-Selling Licensing Course...

Another conspiracy theory? Eyes rolling.

Look, this could have gone awry and could have totally wrecked China, killing a lot of its own people. Add to that, the big possibility that the 2022 Olympics won't happen. The Chinese government may be lying about a lot of stuff, but not for one minute do I believe they released a virus on purpose. In their own country? On their own people, with lives and the economy at risk? The government (which I am not a fan of) is a lot of things but they are NOT stupid.

I guess you didn't read this:

Why would the Communist Chinese regime be worried at all about releasing a virus that would kill their own? They are not concerned about torturing, imprisoning, executing and ethnic cleansing Chinese citizens in the millions. The hundreds of millions of people at the bottom are completely dispensible to the ruling aristocrats at the top. Unleashing a deadly virus on Chinese people is zero problem for them.

I don't think there is enough evidence of anything to either blame or absolve China. But I cannot believe you would so quickly decide that the government, or some faction within, of a country with overpopulation so severe it instituted a one-child policy would not stoop to intentionally releasing a virus that kills the most unproductive members of its society, the old and chronically ill. A common punishment for many things many of us would not consider crime is a literal bullet to the head in China.

But all that said I can write literally nothing off given what little we know. I cannot even say the virus for sure started in China. It may not have.

virus not sure started in china

omg - what a comment

I am actually surprise they actually say their days are improving while several cities of theirs are experiencing major flooding and millions are being effected.

Perhaps you're too young to remember 1989. It came close and could have gone either way. The government is not about to risk another 1989?

I have very consciously tried over the past 5 years to buy Nothing made in China.

Even if the label of the products are not “MIC”,it's very likely it contains parts from China

People have been predicting the collapse of China and its economy for decades, cobber. Lots of posters here have been talking about it ‘imploding’ with lots of ‘mark my words’.

Still waiting.

I know why people are 100 percent sure it started in China but that's a fallacy. The first reported deadly cases were in China but no one can prove conclusively that that is where it started. Most carriers are asymptomatic you know and even when people started dying in numbers it took time for the medical community to figure out what it was. Many who died in the early stages were thought to have just died of any old pneumonia and many were cremated so they cannot be tested for Covid-19. Others they just won't bother to dig up to test them. We are never going to be completely sure where corona virus first mutated into this form assuming it was not engineered, and I don't assume.

@Vanessa Carlisle

Wow! Really? I can understand if Wuhan were a coastal city or a major international city on par with Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and to a lesser extent Chengdu, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Chongqing and Macau but it's not. So if it showed up in the middle of China (look up Hebei province on a map) and it was the first place where the outbreak was reported, even without the virus lab theory, one can only conclude that China was indeed where it started.

I get it, the CCP will always have folks, like yourself, who'll always blindly believe the lies that routinely come out of the oppressive regime running China, who by the way only very recently started casting very spurious doubts that the virus originated in China when pressed by the international community regarding information about it.

Thank God for freedom of the press in other countries so that we won't have Red wool pulled over the eyes of the free world. To your credit, I find your naive belief in China and it's opaque Communist machinations rather cute.

To me nothing good has “ever” come from communism and the CCP is nothing more than a bunch of control freaks and thugs.. I like what one commenter said .. “if they had a government more like Taiwan.. but isn’t that the reason why Taiwan was forced to flee to the small island off the coast of China because the communist stoled the government back in 1949 ?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Here is the thing I don’t trust what has been reporting in the media that much. I tend to go over various sources and one of the sources is my friends in China telling me that China’s economy is returning back to normal. You may dispute it whatever you want but the facts are there. Another thing I’d like to comment on is don’t you find it odd that the US leader doesn’t see the virus as serious and playing it down all the time. According to stats, the virus tends to kill about 12% of the white people who are also old and frail. The virus just happened to start right in the middle of China, at that time everybody was expecting China to suffer a lot of deaths and tremendous downturn of the economy, but luckily it turned out Chinese people had learned from past experiences and took precaution ahead of time. You would think that the advanced countries in the West should have performed better in these cases or there may be some reasons behind it for not doing so. You see all of a sudden China became the centre of smearing campaigns and intense sanctions from the West. You would expect Western leaders to take care of their own people more seriously but they just didn’t care as much even when the death toll exceeding 135,000 and counting. I remembered 9/11 when a few thousand people died, the US reactions were so intense. But, not so this time even though in the beginning Trump said, “ this is a war,” he was so sure to win. Maybe it just backfired.
