Yet another "dumb China" story...

The circuit breaker system has obviously exacerbated the problem it was designed to solve - when you know that the emergency exit door's going to be locked, you rush for the exit all the faster. Totally, and predictably, counterproductive.

As for this measure, well there are going to be a lot of investors with 4.999 percent shareholdings of companies from now on (which will mean a lot of extra incentive to sell shares in the short term), and there will be even less reason for international investors to put their money into China in the first place. Another stupid own goal.

The CCP can't control everything. They are learning this the hard way.
