This is why there is a need for Russia, China and India to fill the gap.

Would you fly in a Russian, Chinese, or Indian plane? I wouldn't.

@WatanabeBuddha

Chinese, Russian & Indian made aircraft have a history of mechanical faults and air crashes so why would we want them to fill the gap?!

Hilarious, Russia. Yeah, who wants to fly a Tupolov?

Ya fly Russian Airlines where the critics can be served with their favorite flavor of tea.

India does not even make its own commercial aircrafts.

It's not as simple as designing and manufacturing a car.

Boeing is too busy building military aircraft, drones, bombs and missiles for Israel and the USA. THAT'S where the fat profits are.

It's for their domestic markets and allied non-western countries.

China makes a couple of passenger jets that can help satisfy demand in the Sinosphere.

India can also make jets to satisfy domestic demand and possibly regional demand as well (lots of flights to South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East).

Russia can cater for the developing world such as Central Asia, Africa and Latin America.

That would allow the two western manufactures to satisfy western demand for western planes.

Domestic Indian airlines are buying Boeing and Airbus in record numbers in anticipation of the growth in domestic market.

There is a lightweight jet under design in India but it's delayed due to funding issues.

In the meantime, the government is asking Boeing and Airbus to set up plants in India to manufacture commercial aircraft.

All this points to the fact that India does not have the capability to design and manufacture an aircraft on its own.

There is not much of substance in your argument just like the rest of your posts.

@EvilBuddha

What exactly did you write that condtradicted me? You even said that India had a plane under development and that they were using up capacity from Airbus and inferior Boeing planes.

India would be better off manufacturing its own planes for the regional market.

Airbus and Boeing have manufacturing constraints in part because the two companies are not so much aircraft makers as “aircraft assemblers”

Really? Who wrote this thinks that aircraft designs and the plans for those parts to be assembled come out of the sky, given by God?
