I know Delta flight attendants who were able to retire in their early 50s thanks to the compensation package they got for many, many, years. They had no plans to get a different job. So, while I find it odd that people are required to be somewhere, working, and not be paid, it isn't like these good, smart, people are low-wage hourly dishwashers either.

Seems the easier answer would be to make full time people salaried. In the US, that gets around all the hourly pay junk, though airlines are regulated by the FAA and there are strict flight hours allowed for every position on a plane with mandated rests.

Unbelievable that they weren't being paid for boarding time before now. This is the kind of anti-labor BS that is only possible in a country like the US where workers are used to being exploited.
