This might not be so big of a problem if we didn't have food deserts in cities where there are poor low cost options or everything closed by 9 pm.

My bros in NY get all their food delivered. Everything was ordered online. He has no complaints.

Hold the megarich founders of these companies liable and they will incentivize compliance.

Soon there will be little robots to get the food at the door no need to even get up from the sofa

Cities like New York, Paris, London, Rome, and Tokyo are all perfect for home deliveries of food. Many in Japan live outside the cities and have their food delivered twice a week by the CO0P.

I see so many vids about delivery drivers demanding a tip (even when the tip was included when they paid online). Food and grocery providers state "free delivery" but some of these entitled ****s think they are entitled to more.

people should learn to use a knife and some simple condiments instead of ordering online all the time...then crying about cost of living!!

Exactly. Well said.

Go to the supermarket. Buy food. Bring it home. Cook it.

That's the best way.

Not always practical.

The elderly, handicapped, those working two jobs, people living in dorms and many others just can't shop and cook everyday.

Food delivery includes groceries too.

In Japan there are hundreds of thousands of places making bentos that can also be delivered to workplaces, homes, etc.

with "food delivered fast" and "drop off salads and sandwiches," i dont think the article implies that segment of the market

Semantically the words food delivery would include groceries, but as an industry term it is referring to companies that deliver recipes with the ingredients to make a meal using said recipes.

People in US demands more and more delivery food..

It's so natural because people is safer eating at home and avoid a possible shooting in a restaurant or another place..

A country who fears of itself..

Yes and Chinese can't go out because they might get their organs harvested. Stop making stuff up.

The trend started in San Fran, ie restaurants closing after decades in service, it has spread elsewhere. These online companies are predators. There's very little good that comes out of their existence, and they're even against voluntary food delivery services for the elderly.

They pick you out, if you don't want to join (ie give them 30% of your trade, they'll target you by promoting restaurants (in their ecosystem) near you, until you fold and close or you fold and join them.

Meanwhile, people are less sociable because they no longer go out, they get brain washed by algorithms staying at home, and becomes sedentary.

But investment funds that make huge fees get to boast how well their investment is performing.
