Well, considering the relatively high numbers of millionaires in China, I am not very surprised. Indeed, I would question the use of luxury goods as an economic indicator, given the huge income and wealth disparity that exists in China.

I always get slammed for saying this, but for a long time I advised Japanese people to prioritize learning Mandarin before attempting English. I think I will not have to preach this sermon any longer, as it will probably become common sense to do this.

I think japanese people are waking up to reality, saving some money and don't spending it all on brand bags and luxury goods
