Agreed, I spent a weekend zipping around Christchurch on Lime's scooters recently and they made me grin for days. Could be carnage on J-roads though, drivers here have a rough time dealing with even normal scooters.

only happen if the J gov can charge ridiculous licencing fees, scooters or even electric bikes, that can travel up to 50km on a single charge even further are available today. J government will never allow a cheap mode of transport that allow people to do away with trains , taxis and cars, just too many taxes and fees to be lost. Also considering most of them are made in China means manufacturing losses to J auto/bikes makers too.

One question: where are we supposed to ride them, on the road or pavement? I have great problems with cyclists here

on the road, all bikes arnt allowed to ride on the footpaths anymore, even though it isnt readily policed yet.
