Yet I notice you didn’t bother to actually answer the question.

more profit or less?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

So does Twitter make more profit or less profit excluding half of Americans?

Trump supporters aren't half the country, first of all. Second, they aren't excluded. Unless, of course, you mean by ToS, because conservatives do violate those more than progressives.

Whatever tyour views on Musk or Twitter as a platform, I think you will find that a 9% stake and being the largest shareholder will give him some influence over the company. Activist hedge funds bring about change at companies with lesser shareholdings than this

Nope. Zichi is right. Elon Musk is just a shareholder, and not an activist hedge fund. He did not file the form to be an activist shareholder. He filed a 13g- not 13d. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/schedule13g.asp

So companies have responsibility to major stakeholders to make profits, no?

ok. So does Twitter make more profit or less profit excluding half of Americans?

bonus question: do they make more profit or less profit by reinstating their most prolific user?

Because people have more than one social media platform, obviously.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

can’t wait to see leftists lose their mind when Trump is allowed back. that’s all.

Why would Trump come back, when he can spread the Truth on Truth Social?!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

No. why would I have to talk about platform vs publisher again? As you well know Twitter acts like one but hides behind the legal protections of the other.

thats obviously wrong.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Be specific

No thanks

I think you’ve painted yourself into a corner here.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Be specific

No thanks. You say put the left/right to the side and 1-2 run on sentences later you talking about Trump again.

can’t wait to see leftists lose their mind when Trump is allowed back. that’s all.

Will be interesting to see what Elon does with that leftist cesspool. one thing for sure, we will also find out if Elon is a leftist or not himself by what he does.

woukd he hilarious it he just sells it today and pockets his huge profit after triggering all of you.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

@Blacklabel

You said you disagreed with the idea that a private company can publish or censor what it wants.

Just tell us what you think should be done here and who should do it.

It’s not a left/right thing.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

No that’s just you leftists twisting peoples words around.

”so you are saying that…..(insert falsehood)”

NO, “what I am saying” is what I said.

Exactly what I said. nothing more, nothing less.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

@Blacklabel

Your partisanship has got you all over the place yet again. Just try to ignore the left/right thing buzzing around your ear for a moment.

Regardless of who’s calling the shots at a private media company, Twitter or Trump’s attempt to set one up, who should interfere in the business of a private media company and what should they do?

Be specific.

How does your trading compare?

Percentage wise gains, even better. Total Money wise, nope not even close. Thanks for asking.

I don’t buy things I don’t agree with. I’m not like Elon where I can buy enough to own and change it. So I only invest in companies I support.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

It’s private! “They” can do anything they want!

when the “they” becomes Elon Musk?

oh my god no this valuable communication tool cannot be in private hands!

people who dont even work at Twitter are claiming they do just to virtue signal quitting. because “I won’t work with him!” It’s hilarious.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Elon Musk has already made ~$750 million on his Twitter trade, which is approximately double Twitter’s net income for the last 3 years.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

When they have a monopoly platform that can turn off speech, suppress news and support lies, yes.

Twitter is one of the most successful platforms in this area, that does not make it a ‘monopoly’. I think you’ve misunderstood what ‘monopoly’ means.

Who do you think should interfere with the policies of a private media company and what should they do?

Be specific.

Massive crash, more people signed up than they anticipated, working on the bugs.

Not even in the top 200 apps for iOS. Not available on android, or web browser. Populated by cryptobots and nobody else.

So yeah, another enormous failure by Trump’s likkul hands.

Does this surprise anyone?

actually its a massive failure, lol

”Twitter is a private company and can publish or censor who they want”

Do you disagree with this?

When they have a monopoly platform that can turn off speech, suppress news and support lies, yes.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Yay! Hopefully he will restore free speech to the platform!

Why would you want to use such a disgusting platform when you can speak your truth on Truth Social with all the other Truthers?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Then why did he buy it? I’m quite sure the person with the most shares in a company has a lot of “say”.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Yay! Hopefully he will restore free speech to the platform!

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Twitter is a private company and can publish or censor who they want”

Do you disagree with this?

Yes I disagree. And so will you once Elon starts banning people you like.

would be hilarious if Twitter is just renamed to Truth Social.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Trump has not posted on his social network for weeks. He's already given up.

Not even close.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

”Twitter is a private company and can publish or censor who they want”

Yes, I disagree.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Hopefully he bought Twitter so he could dismantle it

That's the plan.

”Twitter is a private company and can publish or censor who they want”

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Elon has been openly asking around on Twitter for a while about where one can find a free speech platform - and many responses urged him to start such a platform himself. It looks like he decided it would be easier to buy out the existing platform and change it from within rather than starting from scratch.

Very positive development. Even Jack Dorsey has been expressing regret about how he allowed Twitter to take over the public conversation and eliminate diversity in thought.

I suppose all those smug minions who said "Twitter is a private company and can publish or censor who they want" will soon change their tune once again now that Musk is in charge. It will be nice to see a little free speech return.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

The question is if he will support political liars and those who want to promote violence or treason. The current Twitter chose not to.

That's probably why Musk stepped in, you don't democracy when you shut out one political viewpoint just because you don't like them, what's that?! Democracy doesn't belong to the left only.

Being a majority shareholder does not necessarily mean he wants to, for instance, support Trump and his nefarious minions.

Or maybe he wants to block or push for blocking the nefarious left and their minions from continuing to make that social platform a one-sided echo chamber.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Pump and dump?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

9% is a small share. Whatever happened to Trump's social network?

Massive crash, more people signed up than they anticipated, working on the bugs.

Musk's shares do not allow him any involvement in the company.

That might change meaning the culture of Twitter as more people are going to put their money into this company, a lot of powerful conservatives will take this on and that over time will change the perverse culture once and for all of the one-sided free speech that the left gleefully enjoys, just like with November, that clock is ticking.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Smart move. Twitter is a major advertising platform for Elon. As a Tesla shareholder, I approve this decision.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Elon Musk is much smarter than I am. He probably has some ideas on how to improve the platform and improve the profitability.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Damn, if I new he would that the day before, I could of bought shares and sold them today for a 29% profit!

Hopefully he bought Twitter so he could dismantle it

he said he plans to start his own social messaging company, so…YES.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Trumps account being reinstated! The CEO who is a commie is being fired. Finally bringing back free speech and ending the leftist totalitarian movement!

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Please tell me that Musk is planning to unban Trump from the 17th April (Easter Sunday). Trump's resurrection on Twitter will drive the Left crazy. Everybody else will love it!

Yeah, I see that coming.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Well that is possibly one way to prevent being banned for trash talking other users like he so often does.

That means conservatives might have a future to be allowed to exercise their 1st amendment rights

I have to use Twitter more often now.
