Well they bet get cracking on the charging point infrastructure, because at the moment it is hopelessly inadequate.
And they will needs lots more solar, hydro and on-shore wind farms to generate the extra electricity, if they don't want to generate it from fossil fuel purchased from assorted dictators around the world.
Passing a law is easy. Building infrastructure takes work, time and money. Quit grandstanding and get on with it.
They are never going to get enough EVs down to 2nd hand ICE prices, so they will have more older cars for a period.
And none of this will matter if they cannot stop the rain forests being destroyed by loggers, miners and farmers. So they might want to get on with that too, as they have had very little success there for decades.
