Should have left right at the beginning rather than hanging on to make profit, now all that profit if any gone down the drain!

Welcome to Putin's Mafia State of Russia - you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave (before they shake you down and bleed you dry).

Just close the doors and walk away, if Russia wants to profit off companies leaving. Let them try chasing companies through international courts. Take all your cash out of that nation first, sell any equipment bit by bit or as mentined just lock up the doors and stop doing business there. Companies are under no obligation to open their doors and conduct business. They might not be able to sell it for what it is worth, but they also do not need to take care of the staff if the Russian government makes it virtually impossible through unrealistic demands.
Typical of Russian terrorism, now add corporate terrorism to their crimes.

What the idiots in Russian don't understand is that those foreign companies will write off their Russian losses against income made in other countries. That's what international corporations do. Russia will just end up with a lot of useless buildings and people without work. The apocalypse is inevitable. Putin will be a czar of a failed state. Can't wait to see the statue or other memorial they build to his memory.

Trying to grab the last few assets while companies run out the door. Won't matter much as the disorganized Russian state won't know what to do with them.

I think it's naive to think they will burn the place down before leaving. And that Russians won't have any possibility of making use of what remains even at some reduced efficiency.

It’s called tit for tat

So Russia get all the assets for next to nothing, and their local businesses pick up the slack left behind. Sounds like another catastrophic loss for Russia /s
Fighto!
Hopefully all these businesses cut and run - and stay out of fascist Russia permanently. They should also sabotage and render dangerous all machinery left behind - lest those Russian vultures make a profit.

Smart move from Russia. The Russians earn money for nothing.
KariHaruka
Once all this is over and Russia is allowed into the global community again, only a foolish company would invest their assets into the Russian economy.

This almond sounds like a financial “Berlin Wall.”

Just sneak out without notice. Who cares what happens then in the drowning country. Poor citizens though. they'll have to drink only vodka.
